We Are Builders.

Put simply, our mission is to build.

We Are Builders

After a name change in 1972, Purcell Construction Corp. operated for 47 years under the ownership of the Purcell family until 2016, when Mark Purcell invited two long-time employees, Jason McCullouch and Patrick Coe to become partners with him in the business. Jason McCullouch is our President and oversees the entire company operations. Patrick Coe is our Vice President and oversees our Mid-Atlantic office in Richmond, VA.

Purcell Construction is a General Contractor, Construction Manager, and Design-Builder with particular expertise in housing projects for higher education, the private sector, and the military. We draw from a wealth of contracting experience from over half a century, during which time we’ve worked with multiple design teams and joint venture partners through a myriad of contracting mechanisms.

We pride ourselves in our attention to detail and customer relations. We make a concerted effort to foster collaboration throughout the organization, including with our subcontractors, the design professionals and most especially our clients. We desire to give our clients what they want, so that we can continue doing what we love… Building.

Community Involvement

At Purcell Construction we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. We are committed to making a positive impact in the areas where we live, work, and play. Through various initiatives and partnerships, we strive to contribute to the well-being and development of our communities. Here’s how we’re getting involved:

Community Partnerships

We forge partnerships with local non-profits, schools, and community groups to support their missions and programs. By collaborating with these organizations, we aim to address pressing community needs and foster long-term positive change.

Community Events & Sponsorships

We actively participate in community events and sponsor local initiatives that bring people together and celebrate the unique spirit of our communities. We’re proud to be a part of the fabric of our communities.

Educational Initiatives

We believe education is key to building strong communities. That’s why we invest in educational initiatives that empower individuals and promote lifelong learning. From sponsoring scholarships to attending career fairs at schools, we’re committed to supporting the educational aspirations of future generations.

Philanthropic Contributions

In addition to our ongoing community involvement efforts, we also provide philanthropic support to charitable organizations that align with our values and mission. Through financial contributions and in-kind donations, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Our Story Continues to Evolve

1922

fortdrum

The story of Purcell Construction Corp. began in 1922 when Roland Deline started Deline Construction with little more than a pickup truck and a wheelbarrow. Starting as a plastering contractor Deline Construction grew steadily over the years and during the Second World War was instrumental in the construction of Pine Camp, now Fort Drum.

1963

When the company was purchased by Robert Purcell and Edward Colligan in 1963 it had grown to be one of the leading general contractors in Northern New York. Many banks, churches, and other institutional structures constructed during this period still dot the landscape of the community, in testimony to that part of our history.

1973

When the name was changed to Purcell Construction Corp. in 1973 the company had diversified. In addition to continuing its tradition as an institutional builder, it had become a leader in multi-family housing in Northern New York.

1986

Upon Robert Purcell’s death in 1986 the leadership of the company passed to his son, Mark Purcell. Over the past several decades Purcell Construction has experienced significant growth and has evolved from being a strong local general contractor into one of the nation’s leading design-build firms.

2003

As part of that evolution a Mid-Atlantic office was established in 2003 to take advantages of opportunties in the federal market. Given Purcell’s ability to adapt and willingness to expand, the company has seen success in the completion of many large projects at Fort Eustis and Fort Lee and in the private sector.atlanta

2014

For over 50 years, Purcell Construction has been characterized by our ability to deliver quality workmanship from design to completion.

2016

Mark Purcell sells minority shares to two long-term employees, Jason McCullouch and Patrick Coe.

2018

Jason McCullouch became President. Jason oversees the company operations in both NY and VA.

2024

Jason McCullouch became majority owner of Purcell Construction, ensuring Purcell's commitment to continue building into the future.
