Warriors In Transition Barracks

The Warrior In Transition (WIT) Unit project is to provide accommodations to non-critically injured Soldiers to aid in their recuperation with fellow soldiers, leaders and families.

The Warrior In Transition (WIT) Unit project is to provide accommodations to non-critically injured Soldiers to aid in their recuperation with their fellow soldiers, leaders and families. This first phase of the WIT complex consists of one 3 story barracks building (+/90,000 sf) and a single story Company Administration and Operations Facility building (+/-18,000 sf).

The barracks consist of 36 two-bedroom, two-bath and 36 two-bedroom, one-bath modules with shared living space to create a unified living complex designed to house 144 recovering soldiers. Each module includes a shared kitchenette containing a stove top, range hood and sink. Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and contain roll-in-showers. Modules are designed to be ADA compliant or ADA adaptable. Multiple laundry rooms are located on each floor, and multi-purpose rooms are located on the second and third floors. Extended elevators able to accommodate stretchers are also included in the project design.
