Academy Place Apartments

Corning Free Academy originally constructed in the early 1900’s is now home to the residents of Academy Place. Visit Academy Place Apartments website for additional pictures and property details.

Corning Free Academy was originally constructed in the early 1900’s. Until June of 2013, Corning Free Academy was home to middle school students from the Corning Painted Post Central School District. Under a district implemented consolidation plan Corning Free Academy was to be closed at the end of the 2012-2013 school year. MSP Realty purchased the property and Purcell Construction converted the historic building into 58 apartments in a mix of one, two and three bedrooms apartments. Common areas for resident use include a clubhouse, a fitness center, gymnasium, and lounge space scattered throughout the building. Now known as Academy Place, this building is an iconic structure in Corning's Downtown Restoration.
